Basic Characteristics: Aluminum-magnesium dry ramming mix is primarily composed of corundum, magnesia, and alumina-magnesia spinel as main raw materials, supplemented with composite sintering aids. The particle size distribution conforms to the theory of densest packing, allowing for densification through mechanical or manual ramming. It is mainly used for melting alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, as well as copper and copper alloys.

Properties: It exhibits excellent thermal shock stability, volume stability, and high-temperature strength. During use, it maintains a stable sintered layer, semi-sintered layer, and loose layer in the backing. It is most suitable for steel alloys operating within the temperature range of 1600-1720°C.

During high-temperature application, corundum and magnesia react to form a stable spinel phase, providing superior resistance to slag and metal erosion, as well as chemical reactions. It features high service temperature, volume stability, strong thermal shock resistance, and does not adhere to slag. The sintered layer of long-life corundum-spinel dry ramming mix has high strength, ensuring the backing remains loose, thereby maximizing prevention of molten steel penetration and leakage during cold furnace start-up.
